I recently saw Denver the Guilty Dog on Good Morning America, and I've been smiling ever since. I just LOVE this dog!! My goodness, if Lady had only 1/20th of Denver's highly developed conscience, life would be good. I suspect I may have been the last person on Earth to see Denver's Guilty Dog video (it's now had close to 16 million hits), but just in case any of you missed it, I'll post the link below. Bless Denver's guilty little heart, you just want to scoop him up in your arms and tell him it's okay!
Denver the Guilty Dog
This short Good Morning America clip is fun, with Denver and his people as guests on the show. What a sweetheart!!
And Denver now has his own Facebook page, with a link where you can buy "Guilty!" T-shirts. They're pretty funny. If you've got the day off today and some time on your hands, and if you haven't already discovered the Denver phenomenon, check it out. I guarantee you'll smile the rest of the day!
I have seen that video and it is so adorable! What I love most is that it reminds me of our old girl Raven. She did the same thing when she thought she was in trouble, smiling and hissing. It was so darned cute, you just couldn't stay mad at her for long!
ReplyDeleteWe only got one picture of her doing this:

For those who didn't know better, she looked kind of scary, but she really was such a gentle soul.
That is so funny Deborah!! Thanks for sharing that photo of Raven - you're right, I would have thought she was in her attack posture, not an "I'm sorry" posture. LOL! I wonder how that originated along the evolutionary path, with dogs curling their lips back as a sign of submission?... I had never seen a dog do that before until Denver. And now Raven!
DeletePut a smile on my face! I had not seen that, LOVED IT!!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I was thinking of you when I was posting this... I was wondering if you'd seen it!
DeleteThis one is great. I also love Tank, the Mastiff that got into the garbage. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I haven't seen Tank the Mastiff. I'm going to have to look him up!
DeleteI watched the Good Morning America clip too. What a cute dog! So big too! Did you hear the song in the background? It is a "please forgive me" kinda song. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, and Denver's dad said he didn't even choose that on purpose, isn't that funny??
DeleteSo cute
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
That's hilarious! I hadn't seen that. What a face. I would love to get that kind of reaction from Murdoch, you know, actually understanding consequences, caring about the feelings of others... but then he would be in a perpetual state of asking forgiveness.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only person that this video actually bothers? I don't see a "oh how cute, he's guilty" dog. I see a dog who is stressed out because bad things have happened in the past when humans have held ripped items up to his face and he's trying to appease them.

Hello Jacinta, thanks for sharing your perspective. I've left a comment on your blog with some of my thoughts about this. :)
DeleteDenver reminds me of Ralphie on A Christmas Story. Do not make eye contact, do NOT make eye contact. Too bad he didn't have a giant fruit basket for his owner.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, I had not seen that yet and I watched the Good Morning America clip too. Both dogs are so cute! I will send the links to my daughter. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for finally talking about > "Denver the Guilty Dog" < Loved it!
